Sharon King-Campbell is a playwright, actor, director, producer, storyteller, poet, and scholar with a passion for the connective and change-making power of theatre. She has performed and directed for companies across Ktaqmkuk, including Artistic Fraud of Newfoundland, Best Kind Productions, New Curtain Theatre, PerSIStence Theatre, Grand Bank Regional Theatre, Stephenville Theatre Festival, Girl Power Inc. and Shakespeare by the Sea Festival. Her plays include Fighting Fire with Snow (World's End Theatre), Give Me Back (skc originals/FTLOL), Original (skc originals/PerSIStence), Dayboil (Ship's Company Theatre), Melody and the Fishes (Salt Teeth), and Breathing the Same Air (Power Productions).

She was the 2017 recipient of the Rhonda Payne Award, was long-listed for the CBC Poetry Prize in 2020, and is a four-time winner of the Arts & Letters Awards in fiction, dramatic script and poetry. Her collection of poetry, This Is How It Is, was published in 2021 and her play, Dayboil, is scheduled for publication in 2024. Sharon holds a BFA Theatre and a MA English from Memorial University of Newfoundland, and is currently pursuing her PhD.

Sharon has a long history of arts leadership in the province. She has been the founder and Managing Artistic Director of the World's End Theatre Company, Executive Director of DanceNL, founding executive member of the Association of Professional Theatre NL, Executive Director of Kittiwake Ballet, and is the outgoing Artistic Director of the Shakespeare by the Sea Festival. A self-described feminist theatre artist, she is thrilled to have found the right 'fit' at PerSIStence.​​
