STOLEN SISTERS Art Print
By popular demand, we have produced a decor art print run of Tera Mcdonald's incredible artwork that was created for our production of STOLEN SISTERS. These 11" x 14" prints are $45 and include a bonus postcard version with the artist's statement and bio on the back:
"I have always responded to life with art. From mundane, daily tasks to social issues, I find peace in creating. When I finished reading Leahdawn Helena’s play ‘Stolen Sisters,’ I felt a heaviness. It was the weight of the impact ‘discovery’ has had on Indigenous peoples over generations and its creation of MMIWG. Working in a digital art space, I found myself battling between the weight of the blood of ancestors spilled by newcomers and the hope found in the medicine of creating art."
Newfoundland designer and communications professional, Tera McDonald, is a multipassionate person who creates art and strategies with equal vigor. Her business, Kalawikk (Gal-a-wick: diamond), is where she uses image, word and/or strategy to provide communication solutions for boards, organizations, businesses, and individuals. Tera blends digital and traditional art to depict Indigenous issues that resonate with her.
Proceeds from these prints are being split 50-50 between supporting the charitable work of PerSIStence Theatre and, at the artist's request, supporting MMIWG (Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls)-focused charities.
